We are delighted to share the latest issue of touchREVIEWS in Ophthalmology, showcasing a diverse range of articles that highlight the innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and continued advances driving progress in eye care today.

We begin this issue with an important and under-explored topic, as Fatma et al. present an investigative review examining the potential association between breast carcinoma and glaucoma. With breast cancer being the most prevalent malignancy among women and glaucoma a leading cause of vision loss, this review highlights the emerging interest in understanding any shared biological pathways or systemic links. The authors offer a comprehensive overview of the current literature and underscore the need for further research to clarify this possible association.

Turning to retinal diseases, Dr Adrean revisits the evolving treatment landscape of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). The article provides analysis of phase II trial data on sozinibercept, a novel therapeutic agent targeting VEGF-C and D pathways. The early results demonstrate promise in enhancing visual outcomes when used in combination with ranibizumab. With phase III trials underway, this review offers timely context as we await more definitive data.

In the realm of digital health and AI, Imru et al. explore the role of ChatGPT in answering frequently asked patient questions about cataract surgery. Their study examines how the phrasing and format of patient queries influence the quality of AI-generated responses, providing important insights into how AI tools might best be integrated into clinical communication and patient education.

Qin et al. provide a comprehensive review on the diagnosis and treatment of non-infectious uveitis, a condition requiring both ophthalmic and systemic management. Emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration, the authors offer practical pearls for both common and complex cases, discussing current therapeutic options including corticosteroids, immunomodulators, biologics and surgical approaches.

Finally, Powell introduces AR-15512, a novel topical therapy for dry eye disease that activates cold-sensing receptors on the ocular surface. With early data showing rapid symptom relief and potential benefit for patients with neuropathic ocular pain, this therapy represents a new frontier in dry eye management, addressing a significant unmet clinical need.

We hope this collection of articles offers meaningful insights that not only inform your clinical decisions but also inspire continued exploration within the field of ophthalmology. By presenting new perspectives, emerging evidence and multidisciplinary approaches, this issue aims to encourage conversation, support continued learning and contribute to advancing patient care across a range of ophthalmic conditions.
